I don't like my engagement ring?

My boyfriend has been dropping hints about proposing to me, and while cleaning the house I accidentally came across it. I know for a fact his grandma gave it to him because she "has hundreds of them" so I already know he effort and money put in is zero. This makes me sound horrible, I know. But all my little girl dreams of the perfect guy, perfect proposal, and perfect wedding was something I really looked forward to. I hate to be that kind of person but I find it to be tacky and embarrassing. It's the definition of an old lady ring with blackened engraving's of straight lines. The diamond is the smallest I've honestly ever seen. It's completely used and scratched up. I hate to break his heart, but it also hurts me to have something that represents our love be so cheap and tacky. To be honest, I hate that ring, but it seems like if I were to say anything, I'd be the coldest, most ungrateful, bitch out there. But I do feel I deserve something much, much better. Please help, I know i'm not the only one out there!

or:If he's dropping hints then use those opportunities to tell him the ring is important to you.. Find some magazines with pics of rings you would like and show him and say,\"Oh I love this one\" \" this ones really my style\" etc. and then show him ones you don't like too... Tell him you have dreamed of it since you were a little girl and just keep saying how important it is to you..
