I have this friend and after making a few new friends, I realize that this friendship was completely one sided. I always tried to be patient as this friend was rlly stupid in school. Whenever I have problems and need to vent, this friend just dismisses it as if her problems are way bigger. She was never there for me and I see it now. She has depression and anxiety and I feel she might hurt herself again if I leave her as I'm the only one who can calm her down. Help

or:I mean no offence by this, but your utility as her friend may have run its course, if that's what your conscience is pestering you for. Won't make an assumption regarding her condition, yet depression tends to instill a paranoia of indifference & distance, so attempting to feign concern beyond this revelation might be harmful. Appreciate her for subjective qualities you like, rather than tolerate her faults; or don't.By \"really stupid\

or:Only by being genuine can we enjoy genuine friendship. Likewise, we need to let others be themselves. Happy people accept others as they are, not fretting over minor foibles. They don\u2019t feel the need to remake their friends to conform to their own preconceived ideas. Work to be that type of happy, noncritical person. For more information on this subject and others, please go to jw.org \"Online Library.\" Also for free downloads, publications or read online.
