I forget where I put important things almost immediately?

I put important things in special or certain unorthadox places pretty much involuntarily.. so that when I need it it will be easy for me to remember "

I put important things in special or certain unorthadox places pretty much involuntarily.. so that when I need it it will be easy for me to remember "yea I put it right there" but I ALWAYS forget where I out everything.. whether it's hours later minutes later or seconds later... I jus put my daughters binky somewhere for when she wakes up in the middle of the night and literally 5 seconds later I realized I didn't remember where I put it so I looked for it and its gone .....
