I have been wondering about how the body or rather the skin knows how to regenerate?

... itself and form a new layer of skin that is relatively the same area as was before the injury? Also bonus question: If something was placed on the wound while the clotting was occurring, would the skin heal over it, trapping that object there? Also why does scar persist on the body if new skin cells are formed every 27 days wouldn't they just sorta disappear and that area would match your skin tone?

or:Skin is made from cells as other parts of your organs. Cells contain DNA which has a code written into it when to die and when to multiply. Every time a cell multiplies it has a bit less of the DNA and that is why we die at a certain age so every time we loose a cell our skin gets a bit older. Basically, it's just DNA the code that tells our cells what to do.For the other question, I would say that yes the skin can grow over it but it would get infected and basically come out. You must always clean the wound when there is one so any type of dirt or gunk comes out so it does not get trapped and cause an infection.
