He is 16 and I'm 14. I told him I liked him and then he said he liked me too but it would look bad on both of us if we got together. So now my friend is dating him and is only doing it to prove that she can get him and I can't. But now I'm confused because if she was really my friend she wouldn't be doing this to me. Right?. And how do I know if he really likes me? Because not even a week ago he said he likes me, but now he is dating y friend and I don't know what to do.

or:Little late but if he really liked you would he really go date someone else to simply prove a point. And if that friend really knew that you liked him and she still went and dated him that's a bad friend and might have been using you to get closer to him or to get his attention. But that's beyond the point, like I was saying if he liked you he would not go out and date your friend unless he's trying to get rid of his feelings for you as I am doing to my crush currently. Try talking to him about it and get his opinion about it.
