OK I am 13 and I DO NOT like Twilight, but I love fantasy books about mythical creatures, kingdoms, dragons, that sort of thing. The only problem is that my mom wants my to read books on my reading level. In fourth grade on my OAT I scored for freshmen year of college in reading.... Plus I skipped 8th grade, I'm in 9th, and I'm in accelerated English (10th grade English). The thing is that I can't find books on my level that I like (except for Shakespeare :) so any help is greatly appreciated. I also like Greek myths and learning about Greeks and Egyptians.

or:You could join Goodreads. This is a website with a gazillion of books on it, you can check out reviews and after you've reviewed 20 books (giving stars is enough, you don't need to write a whole review) it will reccomend books you might like. Also you can find other members with similar interests and read the books they like. It's like heaven!

or:As someone else stated, the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan is great, especially if you like mythology. He also wrote the Percy Jackson books and the Kane Chronicles, all well liked. I don't really know if you'd like the Mortal Instruments books, but they have a lot of fantasy aspects and mythical creatures. Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld is good, even though I've only read the first book, as is the Looking Glass Chronicles by Frank Beddor.Hope I helped! ( I understand your troubles, as I've always had a higher reading level than everyone else my age and I have trouble finding acceptable books :D)

or:There is the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus books which are based on Greek and Roman mythology or the Kane Chronicles which are based on Egyptian mythology. They are all pretty thick looking but hey are 4th grade level.

or:Howls Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones is a great book to read. I've read it and its amazing. I'm not sure if its your level but its not a hard book to read. You will also like The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare. Again, I'm not sure its your level but its not a hard book to read. Try them out. Even if its not your level, if you read harder books you will learn the harder words and be more confident in reading more harder books.

or:Try this book it's called (Survyve daylight's doom) it's really good you can look it up on amazon or google.

or:Anti-twilight. Yay. One of usss. One of usss.Sorry.Anyways. FANTASY! YAY!I'm really excited because I feel the same way about books. I'm assuming that you've read Harry Potter, but if not, definitely read it! Tolkien books are amazing. I just started reading the Merlin series by T.A. Barron, and it's pretty good so far. Game of Thrones is good, but um...a \"bit\" inappropriate. And lots of death, but whatever. The Zamonia series by Walter Moers is good, but I am still waiting for the latest book to be translated to english! Ugh, it sucks, but I'm so excited. They are VERY creative. I mean, there's things that you never would have thought of. My mom kind of blames them for making me violent, because they were the first books with that much. You have probably heard of the Percy Jackson series, and the Kane Chronicles. They are both really good.

or:I just read this book recently -- \"A Tale of Frachselbourg\" Just recently came out, and it's a humorous fantasy about a fictional kingdom and a royal argument. I'd say it's about your reading level.

or:The Maze Runner (series)Harry Potter (series)The Eye of Minds (series; Author James Dashner wrote the maze runner)John Green works including Will Grayson, Will Grayson, Will Grayson, Looking For Alaska, The Fault in Our StarsThe Hunger Games (series)Divergent (series)

or:The Cane Chronicles by Rick Riordian , Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordian, The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony Delizzi, or Gregor the Overlander by Suzanne Collins.

or:Hero's of Olympus, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Trials of Apollo, and the Pegasus series

or:you might like Geronimo Stilton though it sounds too childish. If you like to read about wizards, try out HARRY POTTER !!

or:I would recommend the Shannara series by Terry Brooks. The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. The Disney movie The Black Cauldron is based on this series. The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R. Donaldson. Book Of The New Sun series by Gene Wolfe. The Redwall series by Brian Jacques. The Savage Empire series by Jean Lorrah. The Horseclans series by Robert Adams. Read anything by Michael Moorcock. Especially his Runestaff series. Xanth series by Piers Anthony. Myth series by Robert Aspirin. Books by Robert E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft are all awesome.
