I need to know the styles of TVs. Don't they have specific names for TV styles back then like we do? We can differentiate from a CRT television and a flat screen. Style is one of my topics about TVs in the 1930s. Please help. Writing essays belongs in my Worst Nightmares section.

or:The first tv picture was transmitted in 1922, but the business of television did not take off until 1950 or thereabouts. Style was not a concern: there were only two ways to build a tv: console and portable. A portable tv had a steel cabinet with a handle on top and weighed fifty pounds or so. They only had tubes, not transistors, so you could not keep a goldfish bowl on top of the tv. The heat would kill the fish. Flat screen was invented only about fifteen years ago.
