Recently, my birth-son (whom I had to give up for adoption in 1975) has reached out to me for a reunion. I now have to write a short letter to him before the agency will allow us to be introduced to one another. I've struggled with a simple salutation, and I don't know if I should address him as "My dear birth-son" or "My Dear One"? I believe it would be inappropriate to refer to him as "Son" since he is the son of his adoptive mother. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!
