or:Did you prove it her; or yourself? First, let's look at why it's rated M (Never played it myself, basing this off reviews I read): Most obviously, for the \"Intense Violence and Blood an Gore\". This is probably a turn off for many parents, but violence isn't necessarily bad, it's all about the context. In Skyrim, you are a hero trying to save the land from the forces of evil, and much of the violence is against monsters and bad guys. However, you can kill innocent people. This is completely optional though, and if you let your Mom know you won't do this there's no real problem. This is on a moderate R-rated level. The next factor in the rating is \"Sexual Themes\" which basically means Sex-References. The game features a side-quest where there are several references to side-characters committing adultery. A bit mature, but considering nothing is seen, there are no graphic details and it is portrade as negative, I don't really think this is inappropriate. This is around a mild PG-13 level. Last but not least, there is \"Use of Alchohol\". Probably the mildest part of the rating, there is a scene where some Dwarves get drunk. This is probably a upper PG level. So I would say as long as your 13 +, Skyrim would probably be fine for you, as long as you don't glamorize/get excited over the violence, and understand adultery and getting drunk are bad.
