I want to join the army, but when I was a juvenile I was admitted into a psychiatric hospital for a few days and when I was released I had to sign something that said I couldn't own a gun for five years. Now that I'm an adult is there any way to appeal this or get it expunged? The whole hospital thing happened when I was young and stupid and the gun thing is really interfering with my future. So please give me some answers!!!

or:You don't own your issued weapon in the Army, it's just issued to you. But your past may still preclude you joining, the only way to know is to talk to a recruiter.
