As a small disclaimer, I'm not actually an author (just an amateur writing for the fun of it). Anyway, I want the protagonist to be a non-human, and was thinking to let her be an Arcane. Let's ignore for a moment that the word may be overused in the genre; does it bother you that I made an adjective into a noun? Can the plural be Arcanes, or does that sound bad? If so, what would be a better plural for it? Bonus question: What do you think about the name Richall for a kind of noble male lead? Looking forward to some feedback.

or:The name works, and almost everything is overused in the genre. Just remember though that Arcane means ancient and powerful, there's nothing wrong with cliche if you use it well. And Richell works fine.
