I've been having bruising and pain, really bad pain in my ribs for 5 months, what could it be?

5 months ago I got jumped and busted up my rib, I had swelling, bruising and really bad pain, I never went to hospital to get it checked out as though

5 months ago I got jumped and busted up my rib, I had swelling, bruising and really bad pain, I never went to hospital to get it checked out as thought it would be okay, but I'm not suffering from it again, I'm always coughing and get a really bad pain in my rib that it's unbearable, I've got bruising and swelling again aswell, what could this be?
