If 16^x=4 and 5^x+y=625, then y=?

A. 2B. 5C. 25/2D. 7/2 or:A. 2B. 5C. 25/2D. 7/2or:16^x = 4 16^(1/2) = 4 x = 1/2-----------------5^x + y = 625 Now this is ambiguous. It says root(5)

A. 2
B. 5
C. 25/2
D. 7/2

or:A. 2B. 5C. 25/2D. 7/2

or:16^x = 4 16^(1/2) = 4 x = 1/2-----------------5^x + y = 625 Now this is ambiguous. It says root(5) + y = 625 but that is trivial. I suspect that you really meant 5^(x + y) = 625 but it's not nice to make people guess at what you mean. You can not stand a spelling mistake in math, or any misinterpretation.5^4 = 625x + y = 41/2 + y = 4y = 3 1/2
