If space and time are a single continuum, why can't we measure time in metres or length in seconds?

Space and time are basically just dimensions, right? We dont use different units for going forwards/backwards or left/right or up/down, so why do we u

or:Length is an absolute time is movable\u2026..to have time in length measurement something would have to move. An object can go at different speeds; the faster it goes the shorter the time would be. So you cannot have an absolute length measurementin in time unless there\u2019s an absolute speed.
