I’m severely depressed. I don’t like the idea of antidepressants but I think my depression is getting to the point where I can’t handle it. Could talking to my doctor about medication be a good idea.

or:How long & often have you been seeing a therapist, if at all?It's a good idea to ask, in that they'll have a better judgement of the matter than some random strangers. What you need to keep in mind is that it takes a few weeks for them to come into effect and thence forward on a regular basis, and must be accompanied by talk therapy still. What would you say is the state of the underlying issues?

Meet new people and interact with them3. Talk to a friend4. Talk to a psychiatrist or a counselor ask advice5. Open up to your parents6. Go out and explore the world7. Write your sad and depressing thoughts thru creative literature.These things will give you long relief than using meds like that.
