ive been hearing bits of information about the violence in syria right now and am starting to get sick that nothings being done about it. i dont watch

i've been hearing bits of information about the violence in syria right now and am starting to get sick that nothing's being done about it. i don't watch news that often because i never hear anything positive (or worth listening to.) i was wondering if the american military should or can do anything to stop the violence?
