A number of patients with a common disease (rheumatoid arthritis) are imaged by 2 different modalities (ultrasound and MRI) to assess which one has a better detection rate. For example, after Imaging all the patients arthritis was detected in 15 patients using ultrasound and in 20 patients using MRI. Therefore MRI is the better diagnostic tool.
I'm wondering what type of study this would be considered? thank you
