Is it legal for an HR mgr to threaten to place me on a blacklist so I can never be hired by others?

I work in a cruiseship company which has their head office in the state of WA. Currently our home port is Boston, MA. I have been sick and for that reason I was put off duty for 3 days. When I came back to work, I had an argument with my supervor for a small work related issue, and he stated that I was making up my illness to avoid working, and that if I did not want to do my job to go back home. I spoke to the HR mgr about the situation, and expressed to her that I was not willing to work under such conditions because of my right to work in a harrassment free enviroment, but she stated that if I refused to continue working I would be banned from the cruiseship industry and I'd be placed on a blacklist where no other company would hire me. Is this legal? If not what can I do? I have witnesses for both incidents. Thanks.

or:You should consult with an employment law attorney. I doubt that there's really a blacklist that cruise companies share, but if there is, I bet that's illegal. I'm hoping you haven't worked there that long, so you can leave them off of your resume, because they'll most likely not speak well of you when they're called by perspective employers.
