I've been playing with a Peltier cooling unit and began to wonder if this phenomenon can be reversed. Ie. Generate an electrical current on the interface between a hot and a cold surface. If it is possible why hasn't anyone tried to use it to generate geothermal energy?

or:the cooler uses power to generate the cold air. definitely you can not generate electricity just because of that. at most, if the two temperatures create an air-flow you can capture that by an eolian device
