Is there a way to secure carpet on top of laminate without using carpet grippers or glue?

We have permission to put carpet in our rented home but only with the condition they are loosely fitted- we are not allowed carpet grippers or glue, o

We have permission to put carpet in our rented home but only with the condition they are loosely fitted- we are not allowed carpet grippers or glue, or in fact anything that makes them a permanent fit. We would still like the carpets but are concerned about the carpet slipping and being a trip hazard
