As I continue to compare mouse models with the human models for which they are analogous, I have become interested in the effects of size and its impact on molecular analysis. For example the mouse colon is maybe 1-2 mm in diameter, the human colon 70-90mm in diameter. One should assume that there would be a lot of differential gene expression to adapt for differences but I find little about this in the literature? Can someone help me here? Thanks!
