My brother is getting bullied?

My little brother, age 12, is getting bullied in school. The kid is his age, and they are both in 6th grade. I am in 8th grade and I feel awful not being able to stand up for him, but I don't always see it taking place, and I'm not one to go up to a person when they aren't bothering anyone. They call him gay slurs and today he threatened to break my brother's glasses. Whenever the kid makes fun of my brother, others just laugh. My parent's know a little bit but not much, and all they did was told me to look out for them, and go beserk if anyone does anything. I want to help, but I don't know how. Any advice?

or:Try to stay with him as much as possible. If you have to tell a teacher to watch over him. If the teachers don't care like most middle schools are then i would recommend to tell him to stand up for himself although this may be hard for him i understand im in high school now but when i was in middle school i always got bullied, and the only way i could stop was to scare them and show them you dont care what they have to say? tell him to come up with something smart or a good comeback or just plain out tell him to ignore them. Words do hurt but if he just ignores them then they will enventually stop because there is no reaction. If you give a bully a reaction they are just going to bother him more. so if they call him gay then he just needs to be the real man and just ignore it. Nobody can tell him what he is or isnt. or:Your brother needs to learn how to ignore them. They will get bored and bully somebody else. If it doesn't work, he needs to tell a trusted adult. Or, encourage your brother. Hope this helps you and your brother! :)
