My dog hates me?

Okay, so my family bought a rescue dog thats been with us for a few weeks. He is about 1 years old and is a cross between a jack Russell and chiwawa.

Okay, so my family bought a rescue dog that's been with us for a few weeks. He is about 1 years old and is a cross between a jack Russell and chiwawa. So this dog loves both my parents, he is always siting on their laps, coming up to them when they enter the room, etc. However, when I come into a room he ignores me, when I go to stroke him, he always backs away like I'm about to hit him (when I'm obviously not). He always sits the furthest away from me and only really approaches me If I have treats. He profusely barks and growls at me for no apparent reason, I try to figure out what he wants and I try to play with him, but that isn't the case. He doesn't do this to my both my parents and acts completely different when it's just me and him. He also bit me the other day. He just shows no interest in me whatsoever. When my parents go out he just sits looking out the window the whole time until they come back. I just need some advice please

or:Maybe his past owner looked like you, but was abusive? You could try putting something that smells like you next to where he sleeps or in his cage so he gets used to your scent and it will seem like you smell more familiar.

or:Just ignore him!! Make no eye contact and he should eventually get curious. He is doing the \"Alpha\" bit to you. You need to establish that you are higher up in the\"pack\". Time helps!! Always talk in even tone and let him come to you!!
