Okay my father has some kind of dementia, diagnosed Parkinson disease and is severely overweight. He goes through periods of being lucid and periods of him screaming for help for hours and when you finally do go help him all he wanted was a pillow behind his back or a drink of water, and he calls 911 so much that they said they would turn him into social services. But they still continue to come help him off the floor when he gets on the floor, the last call to 911 was to come to his house and warm up food for him. but when they threatened social services that was two months ago and every time social services has came they won't do anything stating that he can take care of himself. We are at our wits end, I really don't want to go through the process of trying to declare him unfit to make decisions for himeself but it is coming to that point. Can anyone please help me to figure out what to do??

And as a side note he did agree to go to a rehab/nursing facility but he was there two days and signed himself out, he refuses any and all help that can be provided. What do we do.

or:(Please don't put \"okay' before asking a question. It comes off as pushy. Also, you only need one question mark. Don't put 2)It would be in his best interests to put him in a nursing facility or a hospice where they can monitor him properly, and not allow him to make ridiculous 911 calls. He can be held criminally responsible for making false 911 calls, and charged or given a fine for wasting their time.

or:First I would like to say I'm sorry that you are having to deal with such a difficult issue. I know it is not easy when a family member is no longer themselves any more. I know that you guys don't want to go through the stress of declaring him unfit, but this is in his best interest. Even family members can not be expected to be able to care for these kinds of conditions. It is best to put him in a facility that is equip to handle the ins and outs of his lucidity. Right now he may not be harming himself or others but it could happen down the road. I hope this helps.

or:If the professionals said he can take care of himself then let him be and stop helping him. Let him make the calls until they do something with him. Use your time productively and go talk to a lawyer about what you might need to do regarding elder care or guardianship.
