My lock for my school locker doesnt unlock after about 15 tries. I dont want a new one, help? :(?

I think it might be losing its "effectiveness" because it was used for a long time before me.

or:well depending on how old it is some do have a tendency to stop working it might be the lock isn't taking your codes which would tell me that the mechanism that the lock has might be messing up because it isn't recogizing the code or the way its suppose to be locking or may be the sequence that is being used it might be its being tuff for it to recognize the numbers i would mabe go slower don't be in a hurry cause when were upset annoyed this can mess up the code your using
