or:This question has been a thorn in our sides long enough. It is time settle it once and for all. If you are in the house, you are going out -- and it happens to be to the garage. If you are outside then you are going into the garage, or it would also be correct to say you are going to the garage. But you would never say you are going into the garage if you are already in the house.
