So i have a dog who is about 4. when i got her i had 2 dogs already a smaller one and bigger one. small one is the oldest and a girl, about 12 at the time. Next one if prob, 2 or 3 and is a boy. newest dog is a girl. Okay so over the years my newest dog would attack the oldest one. and then after we moved one day she finished the job. im not sure why. could be bcuz she was old and blind going def and the newer one put her out(wolf packs do that sometimes) or if she just didnt like her due to the face they were both girls. or perhaps she just wanted to be the dom. Anywasy now that the worst part is over, i didnt get rid of her. she is my baby and i dont blame her for anything. she is just an animal you know. SO now the worst part. i got a puppy. its a little dog and is 8 weeks old. Now i am very carful when i have them together. i watch the behavior like crazy. she will lay down right by the puppy and always follow him around. she smells him and kind of pushes him with her nose. she is always wagging her tail. when im not around my family is some what careless, not careless, my mother is just too trusting. today she informed me that my puppy was playing in the older dogs face and the older dog put her paw on him and held him down while he was crying. i know this is normal, its the older dog just teaching the puppy. i just am not sure what to think. i know everyone is going to think im crazy bcuz of my dogs past, but this situation is very different. this dog came after the other one, so its not dom. like the past one. also my mother says she is very motherly to him. im not sure. i dont even know what im asking really. What should i look for in behavior thats bad? what are bad signs vs good signs. idk!
