How do I find out the quality of shortwave radio reception without buying a radio?
I live in a valley, and it's also a very hilly area. FM reception isn't too good, and AM is almost impossible.
Please help me. I don't want to screw up financially.

or:Radio reception depends on so many things that you just have to hook up a radio and see what you get. You might get stations all around the world around 21 MHz but no such luck at higher or lower frequencies. You might get distant stations but not nearby stations. You might get stations from one direction but not another. It can even depend on weather.
