I just got a speeding ticket going 89 in a 65. It was nighttime and I was keeping pace with the car in front of me. The roads were not crowded while there were still some trucks here and there. The police officer got my speed from following me, and the car in front of me was allowed to keep going while I was the one pulled over. The police officer also told me my brake light is out and gave me an order to fix it in 30 days in addition to the ticket. My brake light is not actually out like he said it was, but the red glass cover in front of it has a crack with red duct tape covering it, which is what another officer told me I could do for it instead of getting it fixed. Is there any chance of me fighting the speeding ticket or is it mostly hopeless?

or:You were speeding, you even admit it and that is what you got ticketed for.. the circumstances are no defense. You have nothing to argue against. You're guilty as charged and if you fight it all you're going to end up with is court and lawyers fees on top of the fine/penalty.
