Should I go to the party of the year or on a vacation that I don't want to go on with my family?

My mum bought me and my sister tickets to Strictly Ballroom the Musical for a Christmas present. To be honest I don't like ballroom but both my sisters do. The party of the year is happening the night I am supposed to go to Sydney with my mum and sisters and I really want to go to it but I'm worried that it if I tell mum I don't want to go it will hurt her feelings, but if I miss this party I'll regret not going. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!!!!!

or:In my opinion you should tell your mother the truth. She will surely understand your fellings. And that way you can attend the party and also your mother will be happy.
