When I was a kid, my father gambled, drink, seldom come back and verbally abused me and my siblings. Eventually I got married and started my own family. Now I got news that my father is ill and is hospitalised. My mother called me up to ask me to help with the expensive medical bills. I am not working and have 2 young kids and my own bills to pay. Plus my older sister borrowed a huge sum of money from me few years ago and never pay back. Should I help my father?

or:You are still hurt, but you have to try and let go this negative unforgiving feelings that will hamper your health in the future. lf he has behaved badly and you are reacting in line with him then you are not better than him. What do you think the world will look like if the necessary gaps in everybody is filled? Please, help and love him.

or:do not help! i know and understand that this seems very harsh but that is not my intention just a fact. medical bills can be paid 1$ a month for the rest of a life and avoid being placed in collections, state insurances become an option once admitted to a hospital, and the debt will only be in your fathers name not your mothers. please for your sake and sanity take care of your children and spouse. you can be polite and honest \"i'm sorry but I am unable at this time to contribute financially\" is sufficient. its difficult to decline the plea for help whether or not your capable of doing so. bring/send flowers and offer emotional support NOT financial. best of luck with your decision.
