Hello. I need some advice here with my cat situation. Me and my wife had great relationship and everything is perfect for us. We have a black lab that we loved. Recently a neighbor was given a couple of kitten and we got one. I was not looking for more pets but I agree in having it, I just could not leave the cat to god knows what. We had the cat for maybe 4 months now. I have tried to work with it but I really don't like it and is creating some anxiety in me. It makes me feel bad with my principles but I think the cat will be better with another family. He climbs over the countertops, on the windows treatments, inside the dishwasher, basically everywhere. He already has broken a couple of stuff around. I'm trying because my wife really like is it and treat it like a son (we don't have kids). I don't want to be selfish by asking her to get rid of the cat but cannot find a way of being happy myself with the animal around. I don't want to get it declaw neither as I'm not in favor of it. I want to be a responsible pet owner, good husband but I also want to be happy. I'm worried the cat will affect. Our relationship since it affects my mood and will make me more distance. I will only adopted to a good family. Not really sure what to do. Any respectful advice? Thanks

or:It's a myth that going outside is a requirement for feline happiness. Playing regularly with a cat and providing her entertaining toys can easily satisfy her stalking instinct, keep her stimulated and provide the exercise she needs to stay healthy and happy. It also keeps local wildlife safe!

or:Kittens are naturally hyper and the cat will hopefully calm down when it gets older. Until then perhaps you could try and discourage it from jumping on things by laying tape or something similar on the counter tops. it will stick to the cats feet and teach it not to climb things without causing any harm.
