What cables are there to be connected and what kind of hardware are you using?Usually you have a motherboard with a large powerconnector and maybe a small squared one for the processor(s). There are cables going from the power button, power LED, reset button and harddisk LED to the motherboard. There is are SATA cables going from the motherboard to the harddisk and the DVD/CD drive(s). And power cables from the powersupply to the harddisk, the DVD/CD drives and probably the video card.All connection points on the motherboard probably have abbreviations for the type of connection printed next to it, for instance: the hard disk led has the abbreviation HDD LED.
