... lately. But no matter what I try, nothing seems to help. The issue caught my eye when my goldfish started to bottom sit in a specific corner of the tank at night, for a while it was only at night. After a month of bottom sitting at night he started to do it during the day, as soon as I run my fingers along the tank in from of him, he will start to swim again. He has continued to eat normally throughout. He then started to show white dots in a uniform pattern on only one tail fin?? I originally thought it was tail rot, so used melafix for treatment. Medication didn't change symptoms. I then thought maybe it was a fungus of some sort. So I used pemafix for treatment. Symptoms stayed the same. Some dots seemed to appear on other fins as well , very slowly and again they just don't go away. Never any dots on the body, until recently, I turned the tank light on in the morning, and noticed 2 translucent string like thing hanging from his body, which one later turned into a white dot and the other just disappeared. I thought worms, but the strings seemed so lifeless, and fluent with the water current. He only ever bottom sits in one corner of the tank, I have switched out decor made it completely different and he will continue to go back to his corner to bottom sit. Everyone else I have asked assumes ich, but the other goldfish in the tank remains completely unharmed. And no dots are present on him. Also, the white dots seem to stay on the same spot. And it has been 4-5 months now. I thought worms, intensitial worms maybe, but couldn't find any solid information on symptoms for specific worm infections. I ruled out anchor worms, I have dealt with them before, and signs are not present for anchor worms. They are in a 40gall tank, I'm running the aquaclear 110 filter, with bio home ultimate media, an air stone on one side of the tank. Water ph is sitting just over 7.5, ammonia and nitrates are at 0. And nitrites are just huvering around 35-40ppm. I also perform regular water changes, with increased water changes lately in hopes to put life back into my little guy. Other then occasional bottom sitting, and white dots that seem to last forever. His symptoms sometime include; jumping out of the water? I did a little research on this, and everyone said ammonia spike. But my ammonia levels are so good. I must admit I didn't use to keep their tank as clean as I do now, when they were younger and in their 20 gall. Could this just be an after affect of him trying to get use to a cleaner environment ? They have been in their bigger tank for almost 6 months now. Thank you in advance for any advice. I'm stumped on what it is, or could be.
