Time problem?

If you were to have a device that turns back time (like a watch), but you have to press a buton to make yourself imune to the turning back of time. I

If you were to have a device that turns back time (like a watch), but you have to press a buton to make yourself imune to the turning back of time. If you would use it to turn back time for several minutes but forgot to press the buton...Would you just be stuck in a continous loop, because you would never realise you forgot to press the button ?
