Two months ago an ad played and my phone's speaker didn't work. Can anyone explain this?

I was playing play store games on my phone when an ad started playing. I was used to ads so I attempted to unmute it but I realized it was already unmutted. Audio was all the way up and still is. It comes back at random but shuts off again.
