or:Thats a complicated topic. But to sum it up: There is no scientific dispute about the causes. There's plenty evidence that global warming is for the most part man made. Main reason is CO2 emmission, but there are a lot of other factors to account for. For example ocean acidification or emmission of sulfates, just to name two. The consequences are widespread as well and will reach us in time scales from a few years to some hundred years. Everybody is talking about raising sea levels, but that could be fixed by means of coastline fortifications which would just cost a three digit billion dollar price. Much more dangerous are desertifications and loss of agricultural areas. In Europe this already has started. Due to warming up of the lower and upper air streams across the mediterranean the first anopheles flies reached Italy and transmitted Malaria on Continental Europe. There are plenty examples of this development but time is precious.
