Well assuming this is the case, on windows 7 you can RIGHT click the tiny speaker icon on the bottom right of your screen next to the time, from there click (Play back Devices) a window will open with a tab that says playback, click on speakers, and the button Set Default will come up. click on that and your problem should be solved. If there are multiple options such as realtech and such then try those, hope this helped.
