What is this and should I be concerned?

A small, pimple like bump appeared on my arm. It began to get bigger and bigger and more irritating so I got concerned and thought I'd try to pop it. When I popped it, it sent a pain up and down my entire arm and it bleed a lot. A yellowish white puss-like substance appeared after the bleeding stopped. What is this and should I be concerned?
