What kind of present should I get?

Okay it isn't very urgent since her birthday is a couple of months from now, but I don't want to wait 'till the last minute, so here is my question. I have a Chinese relative I believe she is in her fifties, so she's kind of old I guess. Her birthday is coming and I want to get her something, but she is very traditional so it has been hard to search for the correct present(s) to get her. I was thinking either a silk scarf, a jade necklace, money, peaches. She knows I'm not as traditional, but I'm pretty sure she will be offended if I get her an unlucky gift.
