What phone should I get?

I have a dilemma, my father just purchased a Galaxy S8, it is an amazing phone, I love it. However, I have a Mac, an iPad, and an iPod, continuity matters to me, It would be helpful for me to answer texts on my Mac, and so forth. Currently I am using a Galaxy S6 and I am familiar with both Android and IOS/MACOS. Do I hold out for the iPhone 8, or get instant gratification with the Galaxy S8. I know everyone will say, "In your case, get the iPhone, it will help your life. But the S8 is so tempting to me because it is out now. Anyway, Tom Petty was 100% correct, waiting truly is the hardest part. Please tell me your opinion.

or:get the S8, it works swell with play store. i am a samsung user and I have not regretted my decision. However, since your dad bought a phone for you, shouldn't you use that and not let his money go to waste?
