I'm very new to the whole "recording gameplay" thing. And there are a lot of things I do not know.
But somehow, I was able to have an idea on what I should be doing.
I've figured out how to use OBS, but I'm having problems when it comes to the actual recording. It would appear that I am having Encoding Overloads.

I tried recording GBA emulator gameplay, and it works great.
I tried recording PSP emulator gameplay, and it's ok. It lags when I record it but somehow it stabilizes when I make the capture screen smaller.
I tried recording PS2 emulator gameplay, and it lags super hard. Sometimes it doesn't even record anything but audio.

I really wanted to play games on the PS2 emulator though.
I'm using my old Laptop fro like 8 yrs ago, and I think that's the problem. My Laptop just doesnt have the horsepower I need to simultaneously play PS2 games and record it.

I'm thinking of buying a new laptop or pc. Do you guys have any recommendations?
Or do you guys think I'm just having problems with configuring either my PCSX2? or my OBS Studio?
Like I said, I'm new to this whole thing and I'm not sure if I configured both my PCSX2 and my OBS Studios right.

or:I've had some problems like you as well with this. I'm assuming your laptop is just not good enough compared with what the emulators need, since it's an 8yo old laptop and you are having problems running PSP emulator.I would suggest buying a PC if you decide you wont be gaming that much on the run. You can look on sites where you can order pre-set gaming pc's and decide what kind of addons you want on it. Or you could go with a (gaming) laptop, but it would need an integrated graphics card that's actually decent. If you get the chance of getting a video card for your pc, considering getting an NVidia graphics card, they are eligible for software called Nvidia geoforce which contains 'Shadowplay'. A recording software that doesnt hamper any system functionalities. If you get something else, maybe AMD graphics card, raptr AMD gaming evolved app does about the same as Nvidia geoforce does, but slightly less functional.I hope I contributed a little bit to your question
