Here's the deal: My husband and I are currently living in his hometown. I work at a hospital and he works as labor for a winery. We both have our master's degrees. His master's is in biotechnology and mine is in speech pathology. He's working at his current job because he wasn't able to find a job in biotech where we are located (and I'm here because I have to be supervised during the first year of my position, and it's easier to find a supervisor in smaller cities). The owner of the winery he works at is planning to retire soon and recently offered to sell the winery to my husband for a large sum of money. My husband is very interested in buying it (along with the winery comes the house that they were in). I am very hesitant about this idea because a) it is a large sum of money and we'd have to take out a huge loan b) I am not a fan of this city at all, and want to move back to my hometown because I feel more comfortable there c) I feel like it's a big risk, and also that I'd be expected to help out a lot (even though that's not something I want to do) and d) to be honest, I don't want to live in that house- I really wanted to pick out my own first house, and the neighborhood is sort of secluded in the middle of nowhere. The schools in the area are not good if we end up having kids in the near future. I've expressed my opinions to my husband, and he is adamant that he does not want to move and explore other jobs in the biotech industry like he originally planned. It is making us both very upset that we cannot come to an agreement. I really don't want to stay here forever and he really doesn't want to move. Can you please give us some advice? Thank you!
