Basically I have been in a relationship with a girl for a year but we have known each other for 5+ years (being friends). Because we have known each other for so long it feels like we have been together for even longer and we both know what we want.
We decided to start trying for a child (as we both knew we were ready) and she has become pregnant. I, obviously was over the moon about it but for the past week she has just been telling me a whole bunch of reasons why it is not the right time to have this, even though we were both ready (she clearly wasn't).
I respect her wishes as she is the one carrying the child but I feel like she is only keeping the baby to not upset me, which I don't want her to do, I want her to want the baby like I do. I have asked her this but she doesn't really answer it directly, and talks about how she does want this but how it just "won't work" and its "not the best time".
She can't have it both ways right?
The way I see it, she does not want this child at this precise time as all she has been doing is giving reason after reason for not wanting this and how this is a bad idea. Not once have I heard any exciting comments or her being happy about it, its been complete worry on her side ever since she did the pregnancy test.
Personally I think she does not want this and as much as it hurts me to say this, I would support her decision if she does not want to go along with this.
Am I doing the right thing? Any advice?
