They are on the beach and the old man had invented some light shoes for Sonic so he could travel the speed of light. Sonic uses them to travel through time with tails by running around the Earth at the speed of light, making them blast straight into some kind of wormhole.
I would have been able to find this movie, I watched it when I was a kid on YouTube. But it seems to have gone missing from the internet itself! I remember distinctly typing "Sonic Movie" into YouTube and finding it.
Your help is very appreciated because I really liked the movie and wanted to watch it again and I've been searching for years.
