Hello please can you help me?

On my WhatsApp I can message a contact, The same contact can message me back. I can see his Photo,  His status which states hey I'm using WhatsApp. We can send one another pictures and messages. Messages are delivered both ways with the grey then blue ticks however I cannot see his last online time.  He can see mine. 

My friend also has him as a contact and they can see his last online time. 

I have search the Internet to find an answer for this but to no avail, I'm  left bewildered and frustrated.

or:It is possible that the owner of the phone you are trying to contact does not have you on his contact list. The app has a function that allows you to hide your last online time from people who are not on your list without hiding your photo or your status.
