When should a landlord charge tenants for damages(i.e. broken soapdish, punctured walls etc.?), and?

or:It usually depends on the agreement they signed. Usually tenants are required to pay a deposit and if the apartment is trashed they do not get that back. If they punctured the walls they should be liable to fix it. It basically depends on what you included in the paperwork they signed when they moved in. Hope this helps!
