or:In this life by allowing troubles designed to bring people to Him, but the ultimate punishment is for non-Christians after death for ever.Those who become a Born-Again Child of God will not be in Hell but if they mess up God will chastize them until they get right with Him.

or:We humans don't know when we shall be punished. Mostly, During the Final Judgement, we shall all be judge and determined what our punishment will be and it will be decided where we shall go: Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell. The Only One who can decide is God Himself.
