Why do I cry at random times, even when I'm not sad?

I'm 12 and a girl. I've been crying at random times all week, and I'm not even sad. I'll end up running to the bathroom so no one will see me crying. All my friends are worried, and nothing is wrong besides the fact I'm crying so much. Am I just a wimp?

or:I disagree with the first reply. You are around the age for the onset of puberty; this brings hormonal changes which can cause your emotions to fluctuate, often irrationally. This is unlikely to be a long-term thing, simply your body making adjustments which affects you psychologically or emotionally like is common for almost every teenager. It's still tough, for sure. Don't be shy to discuss it with your parents, they will know better than your friends, who will tend to dramatise things they don't understand. Don't let anyone talk you into taking medication for it though, that's completely unnecessary.
