Why do the public schools not acknowledge Veterans Day in November?

We acknowledge Martin Luther King in January, however without the veterans we would not be acknowledging this date in January. I did not realize that

I did not realize that Utah did not acknowledge this date until I started in college. My husband is 100% disabled vet and all the other vets that live in this state deserve the recognition.
